BASSFACE SASCHA is set to headline the opening night at UPdate in Friedrichshain's Badehaus on the 30th of March 2024. A celebrated figure in the German Drum & Bass and Jungle music scene, Sascha's legacy dates back to the 1990s when he sparked Germany's first Break-Beat Hysteria in the Rhein-Neckar area, emanating from Mannheim's iconic Milk! Club and spreading to Frankfurt's legendary XS Club and beyond. Throughout his illustrious career, Sascha has garnered numerous awards for his exceptional productions and DJ skills, including a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the German Drum & Bass Awards. His influence extends globally, with performances at major national and international DnB and electronic music events, festivals and raves. In 1994, Sascha founded Smokin' Drum Recordings, marking a significant milestone in the development of the German Drum & Bass scene and providing a platform for both his own productions and emerging artists. His impact transcends borders, with releases on over 30 national and international labels, earning him respect and recognition in the UK scene as well. Sascha's versatility is evident in his collaborations and remixes with acclaimed artists such as Eminem, Rihanna, Nosliw, and MC Spyda, showcase his ability to continually push the boundaries of Drum & Bass Music.
